How do you know it’s time to get a divorce?
Relationships are a complex matter, and over the years, connections that seemed rosy and promising crack, crumble, and disappear.
Data shows that 1 in 3 couples in Israel has divorced or will divorce in the future, and the answer to the question of how to know when it’s time to break up the family unit and separate is made up of quite a few variables.
In the review before you, I explain Editor Justice Sharon Segal From his extensive experience in representing parties to legal proceedings Divorce, eight warning signs that usually appear when a marriage is in trouble. This is so that you too can find out if the following warning signs are familiar to you, identify where they meet you in the relationship, and make an informed decision about a possible breakup.
Sex life in the Kantians – Sex is one of the most talked about topics in the world, and when it comes to marriage, conversations revolve mainly around the lack of sex life.
It’s natural that after years of being in a relationship, you don’t have sex every day like you did in the first month you met, and the passion and excitement may fade, but if you hardly have sex at all or you can’t remember the last time you had sex, things aren’t going well.
High volume fights – Everyone has many and that is a fact, the question is how often the arguments occur and at what volume they occur. If the fights have become a routine matter and every nonsense turns into a scandal accompanied by screaming, bookkeeping, suffering or ignoring, it is worth seeking couples counseling and a good one hour beforehand.
If that doesn’t help either, it’s probably worth thinking carefully about where this marriage is going.
Communication is poor. – If every conversation turns into a fight or worse, if you and your partner no longer talk about things, but sweep them under the rug and distance themselves, and if you feel like you’ve moved on to leading a gray and boring lifestyle, more like strange roommates and less like spouses, it’s time to work on the conversation.
If you have already tried to improve communication, but to no avail, it is recommended to do a home inspection and make decisions.
Squint to the sides and out – A one-time betrayal undermines the stability of a relationship, but studies show that quite a few couples manage to overcome it.
On the other hand, when you constantly look outside and/or That betrayals are committed on a regular basis, regardless of whether it is physical or emotional betrayal, the consequences of betrayal are much more severe and often irreparable.
There is no trust between you. – And if we are talking about betrayals, a crisis of trust can come not only from there, but also from other directions, justified or not.
Either way, if you don’t trust your woman (or vice versa) and are constantly just looking for the moment when she will stumble, or if you snoop through her messages, stalk her obsessively, or prevent her from socializing just because you’re afraid she’s lying to you, you’re in trouble.
You got lost in the connection. – It’s okay to make concessions and compromises, and naturally, because humans are probably not really meant to live in relatively monogamous systems, a lot of adjustments are needed in long-term romantic relationships.
At the same time, this does not mean that you should give up on yourself completely, and if you feel that you have become lost in the relationship, it is very worthwhile to examine the place you have reached and look for solutions as soon as possible.
Not expecting or excited – You have stopped expecting (for better or worse) from her, yourself, and the marriage, and you are no longer trying to improve the relationship. There are no shared experiences and you do not initiate such moments, the atmosphere is off, and so are the emotions, and all that remains of the closeness that used to be is disappointment and a lack of desire and energy to fix or change.
Violence in all its forms – The last and most unequivocal sign that a marriage needs to be addressed or dissolved immediately is violence.
If you demonstrate physical, emotional, or financial violence towards your wife and/or if such violence is demonstrated towards you, you must stop and walk away, before it is too late and the abuse reaches serious and irreversible levels, which both of you will regret for the rest of your lives.
If the above list is similar to your married life, it may well be time to unpack and move on. In any case, it is always recommended to contact and consult with an experienced lawyer in the field. Family Law, before making decisions and certainly before taking any actions.
