Unnecessary dirt

Mutual filth in the divorce process – give it up!

The divorce process is never simple, especially when young children are involved. The story becomes complicated when the separation is accompanied by feelings of anger and revenge. Due to betrayal, lies and/or prolonged emotional, financial or physical harm.

In the review before you, I explain Editor Justice Sharon Segal Why you really shouldn’t mess with the divorce process, hoping that you too will manage to keep your mouth shut and end the saga with minimal casualties.

Severe harm to your children

The first reason why you shouldn’t gossip about your partner during the process Divorce Is that it could cause your children irreversible harm.

In any case, the separation of mom and dad is often perceived by the children as their responsibility, and even if everything goes smoothly, they still feel responsible and beat themselves up for the fact that the family unit is falling apart.

If you add to this harsh statements about your partner or vice versa, you will inevitably worsen the little ones’ distress.

This may leave them with marks and scars for the rest of their lives and distort their perception of their relationship and their self-confidence even years later.

Moreover, during and after the divorce process, parental alienation syndrome can develop in children, meaning distancing themselves from the parent who is not the primary custodian.

This can be expressed in accusations that the child makes against that parent and even lead to a situation where he does not agree to meet with them.

It is true that parental alienation can occur even if you did not slander your partner or vice versa, but there is no doubt that your words have a decisive weight in this matter and your influence on the situation is great.

In any case, do not make the child part of the conflict and do not say harsh words to him about his mother (or father), so as not to deepen the emotional damage that will probably be felt by him anyway, with or without regard to the parental alienation.

Danger of legal action

Mistakes in a divorce proceeding put you in legal danger, a danger from a defamation lawsuit that could cost you a lot, literally.

Section 1 of the Defamation Prohibition Law, 1965, defines defamation as something the publication of which is likely to humiliate, denigrate, insult, or harm a person in the eyes of the public.

The law prohibits the publication of defamation and defines it as a tort and even a criminal offense in certain circumstances, for which the person who published the defamation must pay financial compensation to the injured party.

There are many Mistakes that people make in divorce And one of them is to talk nonsense.

You should know that you may pay for your words, not only in terms of a defamation lawsuit, but also in the context of frivolous complaints, such as a frivolous complaint about domestic violence or neglect.

The court takes very seriously frivolous complaints that have no evidence, and such conduct will certainly harm you and possibly your children as well.

All parties lose, including you!

The best interests of the children are above all else. And this in itself is reason enough not to slander your spouse during and after the divorce, as well as the fact that you may risk a defamation lawsuit that will cost you dearly.

But if we put these two reasons aside, there is something equally strong behind the prohibition against throwing nasty words into the air at this point, and the intention is the harm you can cause yourself on a personal level.

Divorce is a major crisis in life and involves dealing with many complexities.

To overcome this crisis, a lot of energy and mental strength are required, and if you invest your time in getting dirty, angry, and taking revenge, you will have no strength left to rehabilitate yourself and climb out of the mud toward a new beginning, toward life after the divorce.
